The Right Person
Searching for an internal CFO/ CSO can be challenging. Sure, the right candidate will need to have strong financial expertise. But you and your team should also insist on three important attributes- demonstrated experience, expertise, and a personal passion for your:
i.) specific industry;
ii.) current, and next, company development stage; and
iii.) optimal position the compliance vs. business building spectrum.
Industry Knowledge
Our industry expertise has been developed and honed over thousands of hours of experience in various CFO/CSO positions. Our fractional CFO/CSO program, methods, and tools represent the accumulation of this experience. Our expertise is deep in the industries listed, and our fractional CFO/CSO program works very well in these environments.
Our “best-fit” industries:
- Enterprise Software/ SaaS
- eCommerce (including multi-channel)
- Financial Services
- Investment Funds
- Professional Services
- Family Offices (Investment)
- Realtors, Building Mangers
- Large Footprint Franchise Businesses
Company Development Stage
Generally our clients are late-seed and growth stage companies, with established revenues of $2 – 100 million or Series A-B-C funding underway or in place. Companies of this size are usually big enough to need a full-service finance function, but small enough to benefit from a fractional CFO program. We can stand-up a basic finance and strategy program in 120 days or less, compared to up to two years for in-house programs.
BUSINESS BUILDER MINDSET
How important is accounting compliance to your organization, shareholders, or lender? Many executives would welcome the strategic support of a “business builder” CFO/ CSO, but often the compliance efforts of the business monopolize the finance team. We’ll make sure your compliance efforts are right-sized, so attention can be focused on growth. We are forward looking, and we will constantly be suggesting business improvement ideas and also presenting potential corporate development opportunities.
